Our Third Library
We built this library in the Amazon Rainforest river villages of Acajatuba, and it now serves as a learning center with AC and resources for students in the community. We are working on digitizing this by adding laptops and tablets to the curriculum for students.

2026 Rio de Janeiro Trip
Bridging the Tech Gap in Brazil
Members from our team visited Rio de Janeiro🇧🇷. The trip reinforced something urgent: the technological gap is still growing, and too many communities are being left out of the opportunities that access to tech and education can create. Going to the Royal Portuguese Reading Room showed us how much is possible. Standing since 1837, it is one of the most beautiful libraries in the world. It showed us our job is not only to build libraries & tech centers, but to make sure they become lasting centers of culture. Then we met Raul. He grew up in the favelas of Sao Paulo, worked as a teen accountant, learned English in Ireland, and now owns multiple businesses while giving back to his community. His story showed us how tech literacy and English can open doors for kids across Brazil. Next we visited the Museu de Favela and got a tour from Liz. The museum showed the culture rooted in favelas. While media portrays these communities as dangerous, the reality is more nuanced. Liz taught us about the struggle but also the work being done to uplift the community. We were supposed to meet with students in another favela prepping for the ENEM, but violence in the area canceled the visit. On Zoom, we spoke with nonprofit leaders about how free AI tools can support studying. Inspiring to see work being done to expand access to higher ed.
2024 Feed My Starving Children Night
Community Impact
25 of our volunteers went to Feed My Starving Children and helped pack 33,480 meals which will feed 92 kids for a year in countries all around the world! It was a fun event where we came together as a community to do good for the world.
2023 Food Drive
Our Biggest Food Drive
We ran our biggest food drive in October 2023! The Aurora libraryCreate community came together to donate 800 pounds of canned food, nonperishables, and hygienic products to our partner, the Aurora Interfaith Food Pantry. Aurora's Alderman At-Large (now Mayor), John Laesch, came to show support and talk to the community. It was a great community building event that greatly helped the homeless population of Aurora! Big thanks to our other partner, A3N Media, for video coverage.
2023 Mexico Volunteering Trip
Teaching English in Puerto Vallarta
We traveled to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to teach English in local school classrooms. Knocking on doors of neighborhood schools, we found those that could use an extra pair of hands. With our basic Spanish, we connected with students and learned about their lives. We met joyful students who loved going to the beach, reading books, and spending time with family. The experience showed us what communities with strong educational and family values can achieve.

2020 COVID Food Drive for Homeless
Supporting Aurora's Homeless During the Pandemic
The pandemic hit the homeless especially hard. Close quarters and lack of testing spread the virus quickly, and shelters moving residents to hotels couldn't provide the steady food and supplies volunteers once did. We started a food drive and donated $550 to Hesed House plus canned food, sanitizers, and toiletries to the Aurora Interfaith Food Bank. It was a chance to help our most vulnerable neighbors stay nourished and sanitized when they needed it most.
